These Terms of Use ("Agreement") govern your access to and use of our mobile application and related services (collectively referred to as "Services"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, you must not use the App and must remove it from your device immediately.
We reserve the right to update this Agreement at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
The App is intended for users of all ages, subject to the following:
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to create accounts or use the App independently.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the App only with the permission and active supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who must accept this Agreement on their behalf.
Certain features — including Ethnicity Analysis, Baby Generator, and other AI photo tools — require the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian for users under 18.
By using the App, you confirm that you meet these requirements, or that your parent or legal guardian has provided the required consent.
The App provides the following core features:
Family Tree: build and manage your family history by adding relatives, relationships, and photos.
Ethnicity Analysis: upload or take a photo to receive an AI-generated estimate of your ethnic background and a heritage narrative. Your photo is analyzed on our own servers using the open-source DeepFace library and is not shared with any third-party AI provider.
Search: search for family names, historical records, and newspaper archives.
Baby Generator: upload two photos to receive a simulated image of a potential future child. Photos are processed via Google LLC (Gemini API) and discarded immediately after generation.
Restore Old Photos: enhance and improve the quality of old or damaged photos. Photos are processed via Google LLC (Gemini API) and discarded immediately after generation.
Colorize Your Photos: add color to black-and-white photos. Photos are processed via Google LLC (Gemini API) and discarded immediately after generation.
The App is intended strictly for personal, non-commercial use.
Certain features of the App involve sending your photos or data to third-party AI services:
Google LLC (Gemini API): Photos uploaded for Baby Generator, Restore Old Photos, and Colorize Your Photos features are processed by Google LLC. Input photos are not retained after the request completes.
OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini): Surname text data (no photos) is processed by OpenAI for the Surname Map feature.
Before any photos are transmitted to third-party AI services, you will be shown a clear consent screen identifying the recipient and the purpose of the data transfer. By tapping "Accept", you grant your explicit consent to this processing. You may withdraw your consent at any time via Settings > Manage Consent within the App.
All AI-generated results are estimates, simulations, or creative outputs provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They are not scientifically definitive and must not be used for medical, legal, or scientific purposes.
By using AI-powered features, you acknowledge that:
AI-generated estimates are approximate and may not reflect actual values.
Ethnicity results are not a substitute for professional DNA testing or genealogical research.
Baby Generator results are simulated images and do not represent actual predictions.
We are not liable for inaccuracies in any AI-generated content.
You may use certain features of the App without creating an account. However, to save your family tree and access it across devices, registration is required. When registering, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You may delete your account at any time via Settings > Delete account within the App. Upon deletion, your profile and family tree data will be permanently removed.
Certain features of the App require a paid subscription. Subscription options and pricing are displayed within the App. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
We may offer a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the subscription.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your data and forms an integral part of this Agreement. By using the App, you agree to the Privacy Policy.
By uploading photos or adding family data to the App, you represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit such content and that it does not violate the rights of any third party. You retain ownership of your content. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process and display it solely for the purpose of providing the App's features.
You agree not to:
Violate applicable laws or regulations.
Infringe intellectual property rights of any third party.
Modify, decompile, or reverse engineer the App.
Use the App to process photos of individuals without their consent.
Use AI or automated tools to scrape or extract data from the App.
Use content from the App to train machine learning or AI models.
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. All intellectual property rights in the App are owned by us or our licensors. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The App may integrate with or link to third-party services, including genealogical databases and newspaper archives. We do not control or assume responsibility for third-party content or services. Use of such resources is at your own risk.
If you access the App through Apple devices, you acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement and may enforce its terms.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data, inaccurate AI results, or reliance on genealogical information. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
You agree to attempt to resolve any disputes through good-faith negotiations before pursuing legal action. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time without prior notice if we reasonably believe you have violated this Agreement. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it or deleting your account.
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
